Troubleshooting File Upload Issues
Tips to solve common problems when uploading case files to DentalTwin.
1. Check Your File Format
DentalTwin supports specific file formats for uploads:
- STL – For 3D scans
- PLY
- OBJ
- Other accepted formats — Refer to the Accepted File Formats & Upload Guidelines article.
If your file is in an unsupported format, convert it before uploading.
2. Verify File Size
- Large files may take longer to upload or fail if your internet connection is unstable.
- If possible, optimize your STL file size without losing necessary detail.
3. Check Your Internet Connection
- Use a stable, high-speed internet connection for faster uploads.
- Avoid switching networks (e.g., from Wi-Fi to mobile data) during an upload.
4. Enable Browser Permissions
- Ensure JavaScript is enabled.
- Allow file uploads in your browser settings.
5. Try a Different Browser
If uploads fail repeatedly, try using Google Chrome (recommended) or another supported browser.
6. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies
- Sometimes old data can interfere with uploads.
- Clear your cache and try again.
7. Check for Server Maintenance
If uploads fail for all files, DentalTwin’s servers might be under maintenance. Check our status updates or contact support.
